Background
Adrian once had the makings of someone great, or at least functional. He was sharp, meticulous, and deeply invested in computer engineering and cybersecurity, a quiet tech whiz at the edges of campus life. He wasn’t the life of the party, but he had his niche, and that was enough.
Then came Juno. This brilliant, kinetic, full of life woman, and everything changed. They weren’t romantic, at least never officially, but Adrian read into every glance, every kindness. To him, it meant something more. She introduced him to her world: street racing, high stakes, fast nights, and louder, more colorful friends. He wasn’t like them, but he followed anyway because it was better than being invisible.
After Juno's accident, Adrian believed it was his responsibility to fix her, to be the one who pulled her back from the edge. When she pulled away instead, Adrian couldn't take it. That distance confirmed everything he feared about himself: that he wasn’t enough. That he was forgettable. That he had nothing.
So he chose power. He joined The Hollowfang, one of the big underground syndicates who had a grasp on Malsburrow's underbelly, where his knowledge and growing ruthlessness earned him control, something he’d never had before. He gave up who he was to become someone you couldn’t ignore. But the cost was his identity. His softness. His old self.
Now, he wants Juno back not as she is, but as he remembers her. The version that needed him.
Personality
Adrian is a walking contradiction. Soft-spoken but controlling, pitiful but dangerous, weak but willing to destroy to prove otherwise. His charisma is subtle, weaponized through guilt trips, half-truths, and quiet pressure. He knows how to sound like he cares, how to play the victim, how to turn attention back to himself without ever raising his voice.
But underneath it all, he's crumbling. The life he's built on domination, lies, and false strength is hollow, and he knows it. Yet the more it fails him, the tighter he grips it. He doesn’t want to be alone. He doesn’t want to be ordinary. He wants someone, Juno, to anchor his delusions. To validate the monster he became.
Skills/Interests
-
Computer Engineering & Cybersecurity
- Once his passion, now mostly used for surveillance, blackmail, and digital manipulation.
-
Street Racing
- He races like he lives: recklessly and to prove a point. Less about joy, more about dominance.
-
Psychological Manipulation
- Gaslighting, emotional guilt, weaponized “affection.” He’s mastered the art of sounding reasonable while being anything but.
-
Combat & Threats
- Not a natural fighter, but dangerous when desperate. He’s trained to survive, not to win clean.
Motivations
Adrian doesn’t want to disappear. He doesn't want a regular life, a dead-end job, a beige future. He wants to matter. He wants to feel like his existence has weight, like he can bend the world to his will and finally be seen.
Juno represents that dream. A symbol of what he used to want, and what he thinks he deserves. He’s convinced that if he can have her, if she’ll follow him, then maybe everything he’s done won’t have been for nothing. Maybe he won’t be forgotten after all.
Conflict
Internally, Adrian is caught in a loop of self-loathing and self-aggrandizement. He knows he’s crossed lines, that he's not who he used to be, but he can't stop. If he admits he was wrong, the whole fantasy crumbles. His biggest fear isn’t losing Juno, it’s losing the version of himself that matters.
Externally, his obsession drives everyone away. He turns friends against each other, manipulates the community, and sets himself against Noah not just out of jealousy, but because Noah represents the kind of goodness Adrian believes he had to give up to survive. He wants to destroy Noah not just to keep Juno, but to prove that HIS way is right.
